AnandTech: Mushkin PC4000 High Performance: DDR500 PLUSNot a fan of Mushkin for memory, but they're producing Highend stuff, which is always good.
64-Bits in a Small Package Another AMD 64 benchmark. Not much to expect until they start developing 64 bit programs for the mainstream market. 64 bit games are gonna rule!

Second MSBlast writer caught. Looks like the begining of the end of the days when Virii writers could just sit back and watch the destruction. Interesting to see what comes from this: smarter programming or less virii.

Tom's Hardware Guide Columns: The Intel v. AMD Performance War: You Lose - Introduction The writer here raised a good point. AMD is relying on us to wait for 64 bit programs for their CPU to be better than Intel. It's great that they're pushing the limits and making it possible for companies that want to make next generation programs available to the public, but from a profitability standpoint (the standpoint all good companies operate from), there is little reason to upgrade their programs right now, which leaves little reason for companies to upgrade to the newest pipelines. From the looks of it, 64 bit architectures wont kick in for some time, even with the release of Windows XP 64 next spring. We all just dished out a bunch of money on XP, some of us just paid a lot more money for Windows Server 2003, who wants to upgrade both hardware and software this soon? Ok, let me put that another way, who has the money to upgrade their hardware and software this soon?

SATA drives going for double speed. Now I want to see someone get ahold of one of these and test it for throughput. I want to see access times!

MSI Product Spec.
Installed and have this running in our new DC. Very nice board. Great marketing tactic if you want to show off the fact that you build custom computers. Something about the flashly lights that gets people to take notice of the system. Be sure to drop it into a case with a window. Normally, I believe that windows are over-used, but from the amount of attention our Antec case is getting, the window and the lights are an obvious choice. The board itself has been performing flawlessly, even running critical domain controller applications, there haven't been any sign of hickups. MSI's manual is also a great explanation of any settings you may be curious about.
I give the board a 5 star rating. (Maybe I should develop a rating system. In the works. => )

AVG Anti-Virus Normally, I don't screw around when it comes to antivirus. I am a huge fan of Norton (Mcafee has some serious issues: their website being spyware ridden, they finally got autoupdates, etc...) but if you don't have a chance to get NAV while you're running, get AVG. It's free antivirus. Not sure I recommend it for the long run, but if you're in between nukes or need a quick free solution, here you are.
Security firm: IE patch does not work | CNET News.com Oh, this is comforting. Microsoft is releasing patches that don't actually patch now? I was used to the patches being needed, and the OS being insecure at start, but if we can't even secure it as it matures, what's the point? Ah, if only Linux jobs paid well enough.

Sweet mother, I need to fix the titles and formatting of this. I shall, when I have time.
In other news, Closed Socket Industries is about to go live. Just need to finish the move tomorrow and all should be current. No more stupid long name to get to my website. Yeay!
