Here's a quick trick that you might enjoy.
It's a simple embedded music file View the source of this page and see how it works.
Quick explanation of the variables:
"embed src" should be obvious.
"Loop" is weather to repeat when it has played thru or not. boolean values of true/false apply
"Hidden" is whether to display the player or not. Once again it is boolean valued.
"height" and "width"
are the same as usual. play with them

From what I remember from when I used these, the music file has to be in .wav or .midi format and must be under 1MB, though this may have changed in the past few years.
